Graduated from the University of the Ryukyus music course Graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Vocal Music courseStudied under Mr. Seizo Minei, Mr. Shigeru Shiroma Mr. Yosoji Shimazu, Mr. Yasuo Yoshino and Mr. Ryosuke Hatanaka.

1947年:うるま市生まれ
嶺井政三、城間繁、畑中良輔、島津与外次、芳野靖夫の各氏に師事。琉球大学を経て、東京芸術大学で学ぶ
1980年 〜 84年:イタリアに留学
在伊中パリやイタリアの各地でオペラコンサートに出演
ベッリーニ国際音楽コンクール三位を皮切りに、C・コッチャ国際声楽コン
クールで二位入賞する等、7つのコンクールに入賞する
帰国後は沖縄と東京で帰国リサイタルを開き、東京を拠点に演奏活動を開始する。オペラに出演の他、第九、メサイア等に出演。又、ベルギーや台北、ソウルにも招かれ、オーケストラと共演。
1990年:
沖縄県立芸術大学に赴任。沖縄オペラ協会を設立し、座喜味城跡にて野外オペラ「リゴレット」「道化師」を上演し好評を博す。
1996年:
沖縄タイムス芸術選賞大賞を受賞。
その後、「ヴェルディ」を中心とした本格的イタリアオペラを次々に上演。
2014年:
琉球新報活動賞を受賞。
2015年:
オペラ活動と混声合唱団アミーチの活動により、全国でクラシック音楽の普及に貢献した一名に与えられる志鳥音楽賞を東京にて受賞。
2017年:
琉球新報社より、宮良長包音楽賞受賞。現在、混声合唱団アミーチ主宰、沖縄オペラ協会会長、声楽グループ「ソーニョ」とソーニョ金沢を主宰、沖縄県立芸術大学名誉教授。
2019年:
沖縄県文化功労賞受賞。

He appeared in opera concerts etc. in Paris and all over Italy. He sang a role of Rigolette of concert form opera “Rigoletto” in Genova and Modena. He appeared in the Sanremo Summer Opera Concert “Power of Fate”.
1982
He won the 3rd prize at the Bellini International Music Competition, He won the Parma International Vocal Competition prize. He won the 2nd place at the Riccardo Stratachi International Vocal Competition. (1st place none)
1983
He won the 4th place in the Pavia International Vocal Competition and the Pastianani International Vocal Competition Verdi Prize. He won the Verdi International Music Voice Competition prize. He won the Novala International Vocal Competition 2nd prize.
1984
He returned to Japan and held a return home recital in Okinawa and Tokyo. After that, he appeared in opera “Carmen”, “Madam Butterfly”, “La Boheme”, “Camellia”, “Rigoletto”, “Clown”, “Otello”, “Simon Pokanegra” and so on. He also appeared in other NHK-FM recital, Symphony No. 9, Messiah etc. He also appeared in other NHK FM recital, Symphony No. 9, Messiah etc. He was invited to Belgium and Taiwan and worked with the local orchestra.
1990
He was appointed to Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts. He produced opera “La Traviata” and “Boeem” (sponsored by the Okinawa Symphony Orchestra) in Okinawa.
1992
He was invited to Korea and appeared in the Asian Opera Festival.
1993
He founded the Okinawa Opera Association and produced and appeared outdoor opera “Rigoletto” and “Clown” at Zakimi Castle Site (Yomitan Village)
1995
He appeared in the opera “Madame Butterfly” sponsored by Naha city and served as a general director. He served as a citizen lecturer at the Wakasa Community Center for eight times in June and July, resulting in the establishment of “Utagoe Circle”.
1996
He held his own recital. He was awarded the 31st Okinawa Times Art Awards Award.
1997
He sang the solo of Brahms’ Requiem in Alst City, Belgium. And he served as the premiere of “Niraikanai no Uta” composed by Mr. Yutaka Umisedo.
2001
He held a recital with the orchestra.
2002
He held a recital at Tokyo Oji Hall.
2003
He produced and presented the opera ” La Traviata” at the Okinawa Prefectural Art and Western Music Performance.
2014
He received the Ryukyu Shimpo Activity Award.
2015
He won the Shitori Music Award in Tokyo which was given to one who contributed to popularization of classical music nationwide by the activities of opera and The Mixed Choir Amici.
2017
He received the Miyara Coho Music Award from Ryukyu Shimpo. Currently he is a Conductor of The Mixed Choir Amichi, a President of the Okinawa Opera Association, He presided over the vocal group “Sogno” and ” Sogno Kanazawa”, and is emeritus professor at Okinawa Prefectural University of the Arts.
2019
He received the Okinawa Bunka Koro Awards.
